We Are North was founded by software specialists Vincent de Winter and Guust Nieuwenhuis. Having worked together in the past the pair had always wanted to carve out a path together and pursue projects which both challenged them and gave them opportunities to employ their expertise. 

And so it was that on one fateful family camping trip, over beers and a bonfire, the seeds of success were sown. Their aim? Work which would help them grow professionally and give them the flexibility to be involved in family life and make more time for commitments outside of work. 

The same ethos remains in We Are North’s business culture and informs the way they operate day to day.

Benelux & Beyond

The company’s focus on web-based software solutions for B2B operators has been met with great success – with particular interest from government and public sector organisations.

With one foot in Brussels and another in Rotterdam, over the last few years We Are North has built an impressive roster of clients across Benelux and beyond – including NATO, Dutch Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), Open Routing, Frisco Poland. Having grown year in and year out, Guust and Vincent now have 10 people working across a variety of projects in Benelux, across Europe, and in the US. 

The company’s three main business functions are: web-based software development, data analytics, and personalisation for customer experience. But where they really stand out from the crowd is when a project calls for all of these elements to be combined – a textbook example being integrating front- and back office systems in a web-based last-mile delivery platform for Frisco.

We Are North extend their pragmatic, no nonsense approach to all the partners they work with too. There are no account managers or intermediaries – just experts ready to act as needed. Because of this single line of communication, costs are kept down, and time is saved in every customer interaction.
